Foodex is fast approaching...
As we come to the end of Q1 of 2023 It’s a chance to reflect on the last three months in our changeable industry. This year it’s been hard to ignore the concerns the sector faces with the rise in costs, the recessionary times and uncertainty for the future.
Even away for the politics and inflated ingredients prices, it’s been a sad story at the front-facing end also. With some great traditional businesses closing their doors, our friends at The World Bread Awards decision to pause for the year and customers having no choice but to cut back on purchasing. It’s hard sometimes to not feel deflated, but we remind ourselves that in today’s world, like during Covid (our most recent unknown) and in many other times before, the Baking industry of the UK will find it’s light and path forward.
Here at Brook as we step closer to Spring, Easter and the brightness that brings we look forward to helping our customers find ways of innovating and adapting in these challenging times. We are looking at alternative fuels, cost saving equipment, skill shortage issues and more, we spend time with clients discussing their worries and helping to find solutions, whether it be in equipment or in process, to cope with production concerns whatever the scale.
To that effect, in April at the NEC we are now hosting two stands at Foodex Manufacturing Services & Farm Shop and Deli show, in order to accommodate visitors from various parts of the industry, and we’ll have plenty of colleagues available to chat through your ideas, plans and concerns for bakery production regardless of the size of the business of part of the journey you’re on. We hope to see you there…
